The PR Forestry Heritage Society learned in late January 2025 that two PRCo Diesel locomotives from the mill are being disposed.

Chris Orlinis of Cranberry Investments hosted several PRFHS members on Feb 14, 2025, to see the assets. Chris is leading the project to clean up the mill site.

We wrote to the owners with copies to local community leaders to suggest that one or both of these locomotives be set aside for a future heritage display. (letter is below)

As we in the qathet region move forward with our reconciliation journey, a time could come when an outdoor display area that shows the rich and significant history of tiskʷat from time immemorial through the paper mill era and whatever follows would be appreciated.
Selecting outdoor museum artifacts that could represent the paper mill would be a difficult task. The locomotive might be a good choice to be part of that. And once it is gone, it is gone.
PRFHS would be pleased to participate with any group that forms to help make this happen.
