Mark Mathews finished the sled chainsaw work on Aug 10, 2023. Next step: six more rods will hold it firmly together, then we’ll assemble the donkey here for final work before the move to the display site.

Aug 10 – all done!
Dan is at where the frame will start. Water tank will be over the nearest crossoiece
Toughest task was drilling through the logs of accept the drill rod that holds the sled together while we insert the crosspieces. Well done Bob!!
Dan’s tractor provided the essential lift to permit Bob and Mark to install the crosspieces
Mark’s dado work was precise and very little persuading was needed

July 26. Mark carved the 15′ square crosspiece for the fairlead end – eyeballed and hand sawed

July 25 – both tops flattened
10′ long 1″ rods. Will need four more, perhaps smaller diameter

Moved the logs to correct spacing
